The Goddess Project
I have to apologize. It is pretty tough to blog daily. I have had so many deadlines and things that needed completion - creative, business and personal that sometimes I just need to mentally regroup. But I have returned!
So I wanted to introduce a project that I have consistently been working on since the first of the year - The Goddess Project. Since at times I lack consistency - I am an artist - I wanted to hold myself accountable. I wanted to fill up a sketchbook and create videos on a regular basis to share my creative process with others. I wanted to show others that yes you can create successfully and beautifully - wherever you are on that journey. Really in all, I wanted to share - I just have an inner need to do this.
What is The Goddess Project?
It is my journey through creativity. A peek inside my creative space where the viewer can see where I struggle, how I go from start to finish and how I create my expressive portraits. I teach a few things a long the way too!
Each month I set intention and create a monthly project and then I provide weekly sketchbook prompts and inspiration as well. I try to include a bonus and extra demos too! I have consistently shared since January and my sketchbook is starting to fill up.
The Goddess Project continues to expand and grow. It transforms as I transform and grow - it is actually me opening up my space, allowing my vulnerability to show in hopes that I can inspire other creators along their creative journey. I have plans to create a few live sessions and some more in depth courses. I even want to start filming from my larger easel!. It is still a work in progress but I am definitely enjoying what is happening.
How can you follow?
All of my Goddess Project demos are located on my Patreon where my “Express it All” supporters received the full experience. Their amazing support helps me upkeep the technical equipment and interfaces to provide this learning experience and build future courses. As I continue to upgrade my filming capabilities - I am hoping to add more and more.
Why I love to share
When I began this journey through creativity - I felt blessed one to have the inner creative soul to create but also to be able to devote the second part of my life to this passionate journey. I always felt the need to share this. I have seen and heard so many others struggling to find their passion. People, like me unhappy with the careers they ended up in, the feeling of wanting something more or the search for what makes them whole. The yearning for a different nourishment and sacred space. I was there and I decided I had enough.
It’s funny how whenever I tell my story I hear the same responses: “you are so courageous for doing that.” “I wish I could do that.”
The worst one that hits hard, “I used to love to create and then my _______ (fill in the blank, art teacher, friend, parent, neighbor etc..) told me I should focus on a different path.” The honest truth - someone told me my creative soul was bad!
I hear the same responses and it hurts. Creativity is in all of us - of course it will all be different - we will interpret and see things differently - our beauty will be different from the next person. But when we are faced with creative rejection it hurts and puts us back in our shell. So that’s why I share - I want to help change the narrative in everyone. I want to reach out my hand to those that have been told NO and tell them YES they can tap into their Creative Soul and be amazing!
And, that’s what The Goddess Project is all about. Maybe I can touch one person to create more. Maybe they have been rejected so many times and all they need is a Yes! Maybe creativity is the nourishment, the medicine and the healing someone needs right now.
The Goddess Project will always be expanding and I am so proud that I can offer my gifts to others. As I move through my Intentional Creativity training in Shiloh Sophia’s Color of Woman - I hope to expand my offerings to promote the creative medicine and nourishment many of us need to grow and thrive.
